BRAWLEY – A new report from environmental justice and conservation groups alleges that Imperial County’s rushed approval of a massive lithium extraction project near the Salton Sea was based on a deeply flawed environmental review that failed to protect already overburdened communities and sacred tribal sites, potentially creating a new “green sacrifice zone” in the name of clean energy.
