BOARDMAN Police are investigating after a Boardman woman reported receiving a package containing a cooked animal torso covered in mold and flies, according to a police report.

Officers from the Boardman Police Department were dispatched to a home on Maple Drive on Wednesday evening after a resident reported a suspicious package. The woman told police she received the package from the U.S. Postal Service at her Stillson Place home around 11:30 a.m. She said the package smelled bad and was attracting flies.

The woman said she took the package with her to a family gathering on Maple Drive, where she opened it and discovered the contents. The package contained what appeared to be a cooked torso of an unknown animal with mold on the bottom.
