MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – Final preparations are underway for the 80th United Nations General Assembly on Friday.
World leaders are set to take the stage at the UN starting on Monday. New York City Mayor Eric Adams, flanked alongside NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch and law enforcement officials, emphasized this week that the city is on high alert.
U.S. Secret Service and Homeland Security are among the agencies now working with the NYPD in providing 24/7 surveillance.
The Department of Transportation flagged all days next week as Gridlock Alert Days, with numerous street closures planned around the UN footprint, across Midtown and other parts of Manhattan.
