Have you received your ANCHOR property tax benefit yet?

About 300,000 payments were sent out earlier this week, according to the Treasury Department.

This first batch went to senior citizens or those who receive disability payments from Social Security and completed the new PAS-1 application , according to the state.

Checks were mailed on Monday and the direct deposits went out on Tuesday, the state said.

The ANCHOR benefit pays up to $1,500 to homeowners and $450 for renters. Senior homeowners and renters get an extra $250.

Non-senior residents will have to wait a bit longer for their payments. Those will be issued beginning Oct. 1, and they will include the applications that were automatically filed by the Treasury Department, according to the state.
