FRANKLIN, N.C. (Gray News) – Grammy-winning songwriter Brett James was killed in a small plane crash near an elementary school in North Carolina Thursday night, according to several reports.
He was 57.
FOX 17 and WTVF-TV report the Nashville singer-songwriter was one of three people onboard a plane that went down near Iotla Valley Elementary School.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane was a Cirrus SR22T and crashed in a field around 3 p.m. There were no survivors in the crash.
