With the cost of living going up everywhere, affordable housing is a nationwide crisis.
A new report by the Kentucky Housing Corporation cites that there is a need for 3,500 affordable housing units in Daviess County alone.
With many builders selling homes in the $300,000 and up range, it leaves a huge void for those with a modest income.
This is roughly 60 percent of the population.
Audubon Community Services says that better incentives for builders, more multi-family housing, and better communication with state and local communities are key to bringing about needed changes.
