PHILADELPHIA — Part of my responsibility this week was to find out if the Eagles planned to have a moment of silence Sunday for Charlie Kirk , the conservative political activist who was killed Sept. 10 by an assassin’s bullet as he answered a question on a college campus in Utah.
The other part was to find out how the players felt about it.
The Eagles are one of 12 teams that are home in Week 3 that were away last week . Nine teams paid tribute to Kirk in some manner in Week 2, including the Chiefs before they played the Eagles.
Twenty minutes before the game, the Chiefs’ PA announcer asked for a moment of silence as a tribute to Sept. 11, 2001, victims, as well as Kirk and the children recently killed inside a church in Minnesota and a school in Colorado.
