After a two-year, $116,000 project focused on revitalizing Sarnia’s downtown and Mitton Village, there’s been a lot of progress.
So says Sarnia’s economic development director Kelly Provost.
From creating interactive maps of businesses, parking locations , benches and garbage bins in the two commercial districts, and engaging with owners of properties with vacant storefronts, to referring people to a city grant program for help with renovations, and helping facilitate business-to-business talks about area investment and beautification, there have been a lot of wins, she said, through the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs-funded initiative .
“When we think about revitalization, it’s really focused on supporting the local businesses, attracting new businesses
