SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Springfield Public Works is reporting that 82% pickup has been completed as storm debris clean-up continues on Friday.

This round will be Zones 2 and 4. Clean up is complete for Zones 1 and 3, and cleanup for Zones 2 and 4 is at 64% and 65% respectively.

“We’ve collected about 38,834 cubic yards of debris since the sweeps began in August. That’s about 3,800 dump truck loads removed from our neighborhoods,” says Public Works Assistant Director Eric Claussen in a statement. “We are hopeful pickup in the remaining areas will progress quickly and anticipate being fully complete with the city-wide debris sweep by the end of October.”
