A large snake appears to on the loose in the South Bay.

A couple in a neighborhood on the Santa Clara-San Jose border discovered what looks to be a python in their backyard Wednesday evening.

The couple tried to trap the large snake, but were unsuccessful, and by the next morning, it was gone.

Experts told NBC Bay Area it looks to be a ball python – probably somebody’s pet. They said it’s a docile snake, not venemous.
