Farm Aid is coming to Minnesota for the first time this weekend, 40 years after its debut.

Decades after musicians Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp founded the festival, it's still going strong and supporting family farmers through fundraising and advocacy.

What is Farm Aid 40?

Farm Aid started in 1985 with an utterly incredibly lineup at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill.

It quickly became an annual event and fundraiser spearheaded by Nelson, with the aim of supporting family farms through fundraising, advocacy, and work spotlighting independent farmers.
