(Gray News) – The United States Senate unanimously passed a resolution designating Oct. 14, 2025, as a National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk.

Sen. Rick Scott called for the passage of the resolution Thursday, highlighting the devastating loss of a friend, husband and father.

“Charlie was a good man – a devout husband, father, and friend. His life was shaped by his faith and the idea that in America, debate and discussion are crucial to the betterment of our country,” Scott said.

The conservative activist and close ally of President Donald Trump was shot and killed Sept. 10 at a Utah college event in what the governor called a political assassination carried out from a rooftop.
