LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — The SPCA of Luzerne County told Newswatch 16 that shelter visits and adoptions have officially been reopened as of October 4th.
In addition, the disease that the dogs had was a canine respiratory virus, not parvovirus.

A shelter in our area is halting dog visits indefinitely as they deal with an illness affecting some of the animals.
In September, the SPCA of Luzerne County in Plains Township was forced to suspend all visits and meet and greets with shelter dogs as they deal with parvovirus affecting the canines.
Officials now say that visits will be halted indefinitely.
Adoptions will be decided on a case-by-cas
