Scattered storms possible on Friday
The Valley got plenty of weather action late Thursday and early Friday as the remnants of Tropical Storm Mario raced through the region.
The storm provided limited rain in most of the Valley, measuring amounts of between 0.04 and 0.2 inches, but higher elevations saw up to 1.5 inches, according to meterologist David Trampp with the National Weather Service.
The tropical storm system began pushing through the region about 11 p.m. Thursday night, bringing a lot of moisture to the area. Storms started forming over Queen Creek and began moving northwest, Trampp said.
Much of it had cleared out by the morning, but the county was still seeing rain, Trampp said.
"Some of that stuff is still going on in northern Maricopa County," he said.
