Elected officials arrested: 11 elected New York officials were arrested yesterday inside 26 Federal Plaza during a protest over immigration enforcement methods and inhumane treatment of detainees. New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, along with a number of state senators and assemblymembers, staged a sit-in after being denied access to observe the building’s 10th-floor detention area.
