Jimmy Thelin has jumped to a passionate defence of Sivert Nilsen and insisted he shows every day that he is still one of Aberdeen ’s top midfielders.
The veteran Norwegian - who was part of the Scottish Cup-winning squad - has come in for some heavy criticism from his own fans, as Aberdeen have struggled to click into gear so far this season.
There were ironic cheers and clapping when Nilsen was taken off in last weekend’s goal-less Premiership draw with Livingston .
