U.S. Rep. Bob Onder has entered the field of space exploration, sponsoring legislation that aims to save federal tax dollars by more prudent use of offices.
Onder, a Republican from Lake St. Louis, has piloted a bill to passage in the U.S. House that will push the federal government to share more office space among agencies that operate in the same area. The bill passed Sept. 8 and has been sent to the Senate for consideration.
"When I came to D.C., I was shocked to learn that many federal buildings throughout our country are nowhere near full or are sitting empty," Onder said in a statement, adding that some of the offices are located just blocks from each other.
