[DES MOINES, Iowa] — New school performance ratings have been released for districts across Iowa, revealing improvements in several areas. An impressive 56 percent of schools now rank in the top three performance categories.
In Waterloo, 14 of the district's 18 schools have shown year-over-year growth. Superintendent Dr. Jared Smith expressed what this recognition means for the district.
"From the state, down to the district, down to the buildings, down to individual classrooms, we all expect same thing–we expect student success," Smith said. "We expect students to be there. We expect the teacher to create a culture of inclusiveness and collaboration in their classroom."
