[DES MOINES, Iowa] — Summit Carbon Solutions has filed an amendment with the Iowa Utilities Commission to request changes to its pipeline permit in Iowa. The company aims to adjust the size and route of the pipeline.
Some landowners in central Iowa are urging the commission to deny the amendment. They plan to take the company to court next month over a lawsuit challenging the legality of a carbon dioxide ruling made by the commission last year.
The Iowa Utilities Board had approved the pipeline plan last summer. This occurred before South Dakota denied a permit and banned the use of eminent domain.
The board stated there is no time frame for the next steps in this process.
