An atmosphere of gratitude and community care permeated 41 Grove St. on Monday, Sept. 15 as city officials and library supporters gathered to cut the ribbon on $205,000 in improvements made to Weaver Library.

“We want you to feel welcome,” said library director Meredith Bonds-Harmon at the short ceremony. The improvements, she said, were targeted at helping improve the flow of the space and to improve the efficiency of service to patrons. Renovations include new tables, chairs, study carrels, shelving, lounge seating, service desks and more to help rejuvenate the space.

The city was able to make the renovations at no cost to taxpayers, as they received a large bulk of the money via a $185,000 grant from The Champlain Foundation. But heartwarmingly, the library was able
