MILBRIDGE, Maine (WABI) - Faced with an uncertain future, an artist collective is hoping for community support in saving their local art gallery.
In 2011, local Milbridge family the Kells purchased a historic house, transforming the Main St. space into Schooner Art Gallery.
Two years ago, the gallery welcomed artist collective Rising Tides to host an outdoor maker’s market.
“That just meant one day a week, we chose Thursdays, that we could set up out here in our canopies and kind of like a farmer’s market, but more dedicated to makers,” explains Maeve Perry, one third of Rising Tide’s founders and coordinators.
