FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - It’s a new year, but some farmers across 21Country are facing the same problems. Potential loss in profits because of things out of their control.

This week last year, 21Alive talked to Gene Witte, a farmer in Adams county. Back then, his area was experiencing a moderate drought, having experienced a lack of rainfall during the month of August. He said at the time that thanks to the dry weather, his crop yields in 2024 were going to be down compared to 2023.

When asked how different it would be. Witte responded “In the average, it’s going to be about 10 bushels an acre.”
