BROOKLYN — DEVELOPER ISAAC SCHWARTZ unveiled plans for a ten-story residential project at 970 Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights after acquiring the 289,957-square-foot lot, across from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, for $54.3 million from the Continuum Company, according to NY YIMBY.

The design of the site, located between Montgomery Street and Sullivan Place and one block from Prospect Park, was the result of a compromise reducing the height of a previously-planned high-rise that would have thrown shadows on the BBG , according to the Brooklyn Eagle. The revised proposal features a 10-degree slope, allowing for necessary sunlight to reach the Garden’s plant nursery and other crucial areas.

The project could yield up to 355 apartments with ground-floor retail.
