BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — JAMAICAN FAST FOOD CHAIN Juici Patties’ Brooklyn outlet in Bed-Stuy, which opened this past spring, is quickly becoming one of the brand’s top performers, selling 24,000 patties a week, according to Haute Living. Founded in Jamaica by Jukie Chin and now led by his son Daniel, the brand is accelerating U.S. expansion after launching in Queens and Florida. CTO Stuart Levy says 15 more East Coast locations are planned, with California, Texas and Nevada stores coming next.
Haute Living says a Jamaican patty is made out of ground meat and vegetables, seasoned with Jamaican spices and a “healthy dose of Scotch bonnet peppers,” all encased in a baked pastry crust.
