The Dodgers’ new Class-A team in Ontario now has a name. The local minor league affiliate, which will begin play in 2026, announced on Thursday the team is called the Ontario Tower Buzzers.

From Benjamin Hill at MLB.com:

“The airport is a huge player in our market, transformational for the city and economy and we wanted to lean in,” said Tower Buzzers general manager Allan Benavides, who came to Ontario following 15 seasons with the Eugene Emeralds. “There were a lot of fun assumptions made about what the [team] name would be, like Aviators and Pilots. But those were already taken.”

Many of the comments on the Ontario team’s Instagram announcement expressed dislike of the new name, but my favorite was, “I wanted a stupid name for the team and that’s what I got so I am happy.”
