Orleans Parish Civil District Court is informing the public of the challenges they are facing due to the ransomware attack that happened last week at the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office.
The attack affected the court's ability to verify information and process certain pleadings that are dependent on the operations of the sheriff's office. Advertisement
The civil system has been affected for 15 days after the attack on Sept. 4.
The Orleans Civil District Court has developed a plan to ensure that the processing of pleadings submitted to the clerk of court and sent to the judges will proceed without continued interruption.
They are awaiting further clarification from the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office regarding a timeline for the resolution.
