NEW ROADS, La. (WAFB) - The Louisiana State Police confirms detectives with the Bureau of Investigations were requested to investigate an officer-involved shooting involving the New Roads Police Department on Friday, Sept. 19.

The shooting happened behind the O’Reilly Auto Parts store on Hospital Road, according to officials.

So far, no details have been released on injuries or what led up to the incident. Acadian Emergency Medical Services confirmed one person was transported from the scene, but their condition is unknown.
