Poor air quality stemming from the ongoing Bear Gulch Fire burning above Lake Cushman in Olympic National Forest resulted in North Mason High School postponing its home football game Friday night against Port Angeles.
North Mason athletic director Rob Thomas told the Kitsap Sun that the decision to postpone the game until 1 p.m. Saturday was made Friday around 3:30 p.m. Thomas said air quality readings started to head north of 100 around noon and spiked to unhealthy levels (150-200) in the afternoon.
