WASHINGTON — DC Council member Robert White’s campaign to replace Eleanor Holmes Norton’s decades of experience as the congressional delegate representing the nation’s capital is underway.
White’s campaign comes on the heels of President Donald Trump’s administration’s federal occupation of the District, prompted by what he often described as out-of-control crime.
White announced his campaign on Thursday on X, saying that D.C. “needs a fighter.”
He praised Norton for her years of service.
“Right now, what I know and what everyone in Washington, D.C. knows is that Congresswoman Norton has been a lion for decades, has protected the city for decades, but we have to have the tough conversations now. The federal agents are knocking at our door, and we have been defenseless this year and
