Tensions are flaring up between the City of Langford and Pacific FC, with both accusing the other of making inflammatory comments as Pacific FC eyes a potential sale of the Canadian Premier League soccer club.

Vancouver Island’s only pro sports team is on the hunt for a new owner and until then, no deal is done.

The Pacific FC team is currently away on an eastern road trip until their next home game on Oct. 5, but that doesn’t mean things are quiet back home in Langford.

Co-founder Josh Simpson told CHEK earlier this week the sale is about “setting up Pacific FC for long-term success,” and with the 2026 World Cup around the corner, the timing is perfect.
