AUSTIN, Texas — For the fifth time this year, a glass panel was found broken at the ATX Tower, a high-rise currently under construction on West Sixth Street near Guadalupe Street.

The latest incident occurred Thursday and no injuries were reported, but the recurring issue has raised concerns among residents and pedestrians, prompting questions about safety and construction standards.

Mark Hill, who lives across the street from the site, said he has followed the building’s progress through each phase of construction and has witnessed and heard glass fall.

“It's glass, but it sounds like an explosion,” Hill said. “I mean, these things are flying from hundreds of feet up, and when they land, they explode, and it's shrapnel."
