NEWPORT CITY, Vt. (WCAX) - Emergency crews responded to the South Bay Fishing Access on Lake Memphremagog in Newport City for reports of a missing fisherman on Friday night.

Our crew on the scene talked to the fire chief, who said the person was reported to be on a kayak. We also saw a kayak being removed from the water.

We don’t know if that is related to the search, but crews are still out on the water. We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
