ROXANA — When it’s go time for Columbia sophomore Jackson Lawal, he goes.

Lawal was wide open when he caught a 52-yard touchdown pass to push the Columbia Eagles to a 33-29 victory over Roxana in a Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division football game Friday night on Charles Raich Field to spoil homecoming for the Shells.

“We played real hard and we did what we needed to do to get the win,” Lawal said.

Lawal also caught a 17-yard TD pass in the first half and finished with three receptions for 79 yards. For the season, Lawal has nine catches for 241 yards and six touchdowns.

“He’s got a ton of talent,” Columbia coach Scott Horner said. “He’s super quick. He’s got some decent speed.”
