WADSWORTH, Ohio — There was a lot at stake in Wadsworth on Friday night, as both teams entered undefeated and looking for sole possession of first place in the Suburban League’s National Conference.
Wadsworth (5-0, 2-0, ranked seventh in the cleveland.com Top 25) used a series of big plays and defensive stops to gain an early lead. Twinsburg (4-1, 1-1, ranked 24th) didn’t have any answers in the 39-0 Grizzlies win.
Ultimately, a strong fourth-quarter performance made the game worthwhile, despite a sloppy first half for Wadsworth head coach Justin Todd.
“This was probably our sloppiest game … they leaned on us early which was a concern,” Todd explained. “I thought our guys really buckled up there in the end and did a nice job to keep them out of the end zone.”
