A police pursuit that began in West Covina ended in dramatic fashion Friday night when the fleeing driver was struck by a police vehicle and his car erupted in flames.

The chase started when officers attempted to stop the suspect for an unknown violation, but officials have not released details on the initial reason for the pursuit.
