HUNTINGTON — The Marshall University football team travels to Middle Tennessee State for a 7 p.m. matchup on Saturday. It’s the renewal of a former Conference USA series.
The Thundering Herd and the Blue Raiders last played in 2021, won by Middle Tennessee, 34-28.
Folks call Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium a house of horrors for Marshall. The Herd was 1-4 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, during those C-USA years, and a lot of the games felt as if Marshall turned the ball over three more times on the way home.
In the 2021 matchup, Marshall had 493 yards of offense but lost four fumbles and two interceptions to lose by six points.
