A major search is underway on the River Leven at Dumbarton after a woman reportedly entered the water.

A multi-agency response was launched around 9pm on Friday (September 19). Police officers, the police helicopter, the fire service and the Coastguard were scrambled to the scene.

As of Saturday morning, the woman has not been located. Searches are ongoing on Saturday, with the police helicopter circling the area.

The woman is described as white, 6ft tall, with long brown hair and a cross tattoo on her left shoulder. She is believed to have been wearing dark jeans, a dark top and black trainers with white soles.
