STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — There were four reported vehicle thefts during the week of Sept. 8 through Sept. 14, according to NYPD data.

Despite the recent incidents, car thefts in the borough have declined significantly this year. Grand larceny auto cases reported through Sept. 14 dropped 36% (162 in 2025 vs. 252 in 2024) according to the NYPD’s latest CompStat figures. The last time car thefts were this low was in 2021.

Here’s a look at the most recent incidents:

On Sept. 8 at 8 a.m., a car theft was reported at Nicholas and Charles avenues in Port Richmond.

On Sept. 13 at 12 p.m., a car theft occurred at Nicholas and Harrison avenues, in Port Richmond. Later that day at 8 p.m., another vehicle was stolen at Westwood and Ardmore avenues in Willowbrook.
