A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash with a car on a West Lothian road.

Emergency services rushed to the A706 near Linlithgow Bridge shortly before 5pm on Friday, September 19, following the smash involving a white Nissan Qashqai and a white Benelli Tornado 1125 motorcycle.

The rider of the motorbike, a 38-year-old man, was rushed to hospital for treatment to serious injuries. There were no other injuries reported.

The road was closed for around five hours to allow for investigations to take place and police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
