A s a professional actor, Isaiah Di Lorenzo has appeared in numerous productions by local theater companies including Upstream Theater, the Black Rep, Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis, St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, Albion Theatre and Dances of India, among others. To supplement his acting career, he buys, restores and manages properties around the city.
Di Lorenzo bought his own turn-of-the-century home in Gravois Park about 10 years ago at an auction, taking on a full restoration of the dilapidated property.
“It was beyond a gut remodel. I had to rebuild the walls,” he says.
He started by building out a full apartment in the basement, and then spent several years living in it while renovating the first and second floors with the help of contractor Samir Niksic of Foca General C
