Hundreds attended a candlelight vigil mourning the loss of 16-year-old Blake Elliott, who died in a crash on MD 543 near Crescent Knoll Drive on Thursday.

Flowers, pictures and a hoodie are some of the things being left at a growing memorial near the crash site as friends, classmates and members of the soccer community pay their respects.

“This means so much to us,” Elliott’s father said while addressing the crowd at the vigil Friday night. “Make no mistake about it, we’re devastated, but you guys helped put us back together.
