SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The University of Notre Dame is celebrating 50 years of women’s varsity sports with “Cheer Her Name” events throughout the year honoring its female athletes.
Indiana State Sen. Liz Brown (R-District 15), a former Notre Dame athlete herself, is in town for the festivities this weekend.
Brown joined us on WNDU 16 News Now Saturday Morning to tell us what it’s like to be back on campus for such an important milestone. She also touched on a new law that was passed this year in Indiana that bans transgender women from participating in women’s college sports.
