SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Just four women have ever worn the suit as the Notre Dame Leprechaun, and now a current senior has become the latest to carry on that legacy.

WNDU 16 Sports Reporter Sabrina Hoover sat down with McKenna Englhardt to learn about her experience so far and get a glimpse into what it’s like to represent the Fighting Irish.

SABRINA HOOVER : The coolest part for me is to see you run out of the tunnel with the team. What is that like? What is going through your mind when you’re doing that?

MCKENNA ENGLHARDT : This week was my first home game at Notre Dame Stadium, so I was very, very nervous. Nervous about, “Oh my goodness, is the flag, is it going to be windy?” Then you have this fear, “Am I going to forget how to run?” What’s going to happen? But it is also so c
