Gov. Kay Ivey on Wednesday named a 20-member advisory group to help prepare for a healthcare initiative that is part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed by President Trump on July 4.
Alabama is expected to receive $500 million over five years as part of the Rural Health Transformation Program in the OBBA.
The goal is to use the money to strengthen rural communities by improving healthcare access and quality, the governor's office said.
The deadline for state to apply for the funds is Nov. 5.
