A two-year-old child was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance on Friday afternoon, one of two people injured in a house fire north of Aldergrove.

Langley Township firefighters and RCMP were notified at 12:23 p.m. of a structure fire in the 6600 block of 272 Street, north of the Gloucester Industrial Estates.

When firefighters arrived, they found a woman and a two-year-old child outside the home, suffering from injuries, said deputy fire chief Cory Parker.

Firefighters gave first aid to the victims, and also began attacking the fire to bring it under control.

BC Ambulance paramedics and Langley RCMP also arrived on scene to help – Mounties were asking drivers to avoid the area during Friday afternoon.
