MAX SCHARPING has been ruled out for the season after tearing his ACL.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defensive linesman injured his knee during practice.
Reports claim it is an ACL tear which means Scharping will not be back before the season ends and could face up to nine months on the sidelines.
He failed to feature in the Steelers' opening two games this campaign.
And he made just two appearances in the NFL last season.
Scharping, 29, joined the Steelers in 2024 on a free transfer from the Washington Commanders.
He spent a year at the Commanders and prior to that had a season at the Philadelphia Eagles .
Scharping began his career with the Houston Texans in 2019, spending two years at the franchise.
