SEWICKLEY, Pa. —

The Sewickley Public Library of the Quaker Valley School District will be temporarily closed this week as officials work to clean up water damage caused by an air conditioner unit.

The library stated on its website that the closure will be in place until Tuesday, Sept. 23, after an air conditioning unit failure caused significant water damage in several areas of the library. Advertisement

"We are working to clean up and assess the affected areas," the library said.

The library, located at 500 Thorn Street, stated that the closure may be extended if necessary. The current plan says they anticipate reopening on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

All programs and events during this time have since been cancelled.
