CLEVELAND, Ohio — Help is on the way for the Browns’ challenged special teams unit.
Browns kicker Andre Szmyt’s left calf injury checked out okay from his MRI on Friday, and he’ll kick vs. the Packers on Sunday.
In addition, return specialist DeAndre Carter was cleared from the concussion protocol and will face the Packers.
Both had their “questionable” designations lifted and are good to og.
The Browns dodged a bullet, because they’re already plugging holes on other areas of their special teams.
They needed to shore up punt coverage this week after personal protector Ronnie Hickman got blown up on the blocked punt, and punter Corey Bojorquez suffered a right ankle injury during that debacle.
