Seven school districts in the Magic Valley will ask voters in November to approve a total of $26.4 million in bonds and $6.6 million in levies to help pay for school operations and construction projects.

Gooding Joint School District is the only district in the area seeking a bond. Voters will see a $26.4 million bond on the ballot to pay for renovations and additions at the high school, middle school and elementary school.

Minidoka, Kimberly, Filer, Valley, Murtaugh and Three Creek school districts are each running one or two levies.

State law allows school districts to use bonds to buy property, build schools, buy school buses and complete construction projects. They need a supermajority, 66.67%, to pass.
