A plane crashed off Monterey County's Point Pinos Saturday night, likely claiming the lives of at least two of the three people on board, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The third person remained missing as of Sunday morning as search and rescue operations involving the Coast Guard, Cal Fire, and multiple local law enforcement agencies continued as of 10:15 a.m., according to U.S. Coast Guard spokesman Petty Officer Ryan Graves.
The twin-engine Beechcraft with tail number N8796R took off from San Carlos Airport, in San Mateo County, and went down at about 10:55 p.m. about 200-300 yards off Point Pinos, which is in the city of Pacific Grove, according to a news release from the Coast Guard.
Two people were found unresponsive, according to the release.
